The article I read is called, “Over Three Years Later, “deleted” Facebook Photos are Still Online”. The publication date of this article is February 7, 2012. The source of the article is CNN. This article was about pictures that people delete off their Facebook that stay online. The company of Facebook did admit that the program is sometimes slow in motion of getting the pictures offline. When the “deleted” pictures were investigated, the investigation found that the pictures could never be deleted or gone from the system. The reason is that the pictures have links to the pictures and the links will forever stay. There are also many reasons why people would delete pictures. People may delete pictures for fear of the boss seeing, family drama or a friend seeing without permission. Once the picture is put up, you can delete it. If there is a link though, there will always be a way to find the picture. There is something called a photo storage where after photos are deleted they will stay online for a long amount of time. Facebook producers are working hard to get the “deleted” pictures to be gone offline in 45 days. It will take some time, but eventually they will get the process working.
I would have to say I was shocked by this article because I have a Facebook and I use it regularly. I spend a lot of time putting pictures up from events with my family and friends. Of course, there is always that friend that calls or texts the minute you put up the picture. She wants you to take the picture down because she doesn’t like how she looks. It is interesting that the picture might still be up there after you deleted it. I don’t think my friend or even other people would be happy to hear this news. I feel if people did know about this they may be hesitant to put pictures up on Facebook or even create a Facebook.
The company named Ars Technica investigated this situation in 2009 and is probably pretty upset that this is still going on. In addition to this article, you can read more about it if you follow the link below.

Robot cleaner a 'game changer' for hospital infection epidemic
The article that I chose to read was Robot cleaner a 'game changer' for hospital infection epidemic. The article was written on January 26, 2012 by Eilene Zimmerman. The article came from CNN Money Tech. The article was about how robots are helping hospitals clean and disinfect hospital rooms well, so patients do not get any more infections. Even though hospitals are where sick people go to get better, they can also get much
worse because of the many bacteria and infections there are in the hospitals. The name of the robot is named Xenex. Xenex can disinfect a hospital room in about ten minutes, mainly focusing on places that are hard for the housekeepers to reach and clean. According to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA, 1 in 129 of their patients got sick with an infection that they got in the hospital in 2010. Since the hospital started using Xenex, they saw a 67% drop in infections. These robots are not cheap at all, they cost $80,000, but many say that it is worth purchasing or leasing. Hospitals pay about $35 billion dollars a year to treat hospital-acquired illnesses. This robot has been such a breakthrough for hospitals to clean. There are about two dozen already in hospitals throughout the United States. The company expects to have 240 robots by the end of the year, and it has already begun to move into Europe and Asia. I think that this is a very good thing for hospitals to have because it can help save the lives of people who are really sick and cannot get any infections if they have a weak immune system. This is also helpful for the housekeepers that clean hospital rooms because this helps them get the places that are tough to clean. Even though they are really expensive, it would be a wise investment and asset for hospitals to have. I was surprise that hospitals paid about $35 billion dollars a year to treat infections that people got in the hospital. I always thought that hospitals were the cleanest places because they need to have them clean for the patients, but now I know that they are not and that patients can still catch many infections.

Blog #2
The article that I read about was called "Over 3 years later, "deleted" Facebook photos are still online. The date of this article was February 7th, 2012. The article writer is Jacqui Cheng. This article came from CNN Tech.com. The article is about Facebook and about how photos that you think you have deleted haven't really been deleted and are still online to this day from up to 3 years ago! The problem is not only with the photos that you upload yourself but with the photos that others upload of you without your consent. The reason why these photos are still online claims Facebook is that they never came up with a system that was advanced enough to hold all the photos in memory and delete them all and couldn't keep up with the deletions. The JPG's were also an issue. They still haven't fixed the issue and it is more than a couple years later, but they swear they have a solution now because the spotlight is on them. The solution is supposedly that they are coming up with a program that will delete years and years of photos that have been "deleted" in a mere two months. That sounds like a bunch of ridiculous pish-posh to me, sounds like Facebook trying to buy more time until they can come up with an actual solution. My personal view on this issue is that when something says delete it should be deleted it shouldn't be fake deleted. I also feel that Facebook shouldn't have lied for many years pretending to have solved the problem just to get others to forget it and not speak up about it. I use Facebook very often and I wasn't aware of this issue at all until I read this article for this class and I am deeply disturbed at this because I feel that Facebook has a right to let us know of any breaches or possible breaches that could be happening to us. The breaches that I hear about for Facebook I hear about from television first before I hear it from Facebook I feel that that is pathetic on the consumer side of things.

My name is Rick R. Forget, I am from Nichols College and I am a Criminal Justice major. I would like to become a police officer in my hometown of Douglas, Massachusetts. I enjoy hanging out with my buddies and hanging out by my lake house. My family owns a small waterpark called Breezy Picnic Grounds and Waterslides. I enjoy working there and being part of my familys business. I enjoy playing golf and mixing music. I enjoy wakeboarding and swimming. My favorite sport teams are the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, the Boston Celtics and the Philidelphia Phillies. Someone to who I admire is Martin Luther King Jr. I admire how he overcame and challenged people to except new people for who they are and not by their skin color. My GPA in highschool was a 3.0 and I worked my butt off to get it. I hope to learn how to use technology better through this Digital Apps class.
The blog I chose is about the Superbowl which our very own New England Patriots are in, vs the New York Giants the d who will win. It predicts the score and reasons why the team wins. 15 out of the 25 writers picked the Giants to win! That made me very upset!!

All About Me- Tricia Stacy

My name is Tricia Stacy, I am from Pembroke, Massachusetts and I am 18 years old and I was born on October 1st, 1993. I am a freshman here at Nichols College majoring in sports management hoping to work for the Boston Bruins one day. I came to Nichols because they have my major, sport, and it was close to home. I am very close to my family that’s why I wanted to stay close to home. I have an older brother, Billy, who goes to Northeastern and plays lacrosse there. I use to work at Stop and Shop in my hometown and then I gave my notice before I went off to school. I won’t re apply in the summer to work there because I hated it. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, go to the beach, and play sports. I came to Nichols mostly because they had girl’s hockey and I had played since I was 5 years old. I didn’t make the team here and I am glad I didn’t. I am now playing softball here and am looking forward to going to Florida in March for the first few games on the season.
What I want to gain from this course is knowledge of how to make my presentations look good. I want to gain my knowledge for computers and the little things you can do to your paper or presentation to make it look awesome. I would say I know computers pretty good, but I know there is more to learn and I am looking forward to that. Hopefully by then end of this course I can apply my knowledge of how to do things to my other classes to boost my grades.
I found a video on youtube.com that interests me the most because it is the Boston Bruins best hits in 2011. I am been a hockey fan all my life and I started playing at the age of 5. I started playing after watching my brother play and ever since I have played. I played on my town league and a travel team called the Bay State Breakers. When I got to high school we went all the way to the championship at the TD Garden, but lost, and I was assistant captain my senior year. Now that I can’t play, I watch the Bruins play every game and sometimes attend the games.
